My stay at this hotel was pleasant overall. The rooms were a bit of a mixed bag, slightly hot with no A/C, yet a little cold even with the extra heater on. The room had a nice sitting/TV area but felt a little cramped at times. The service was outstanding; the staff went out of their way to help us with tourist information and took care of every detail. The breakfast served was fantastic and the guest house was very clean. The location was convenient, just a short walk away from all the main attractions in York, making it great for exploring the city center. The dining experience was lovely with delicious and generous food offered. However, the facilities were lacking in some areas.

I had a lovely stay at Bowen House. The room had a pleasant view from the window, was clean and ready for us even though we arrived early, and the shower room was great. Plus, there was plenty of tea and coffee, and the bed was super comfy. Just a 10-minute walk into town.

The hotel is ideally located inside the City Walls, just a few minutes' walk from York Minster and the Shambles, making it perfect for visiting York. The rooms were beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, though being on the second floor was a bit challenging for us as a couple in our seventies with knee and feet ailments. The service was exceptional, with helpful and attentive staff who showed genuine interest in our journey. The breakfast was delicious and made to our liking. The location was fantastic, close to the city center and all the shops and bars.
